Purchasing any piece of fine jewelry, whether for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, is often not a task undertaken lightly. As such, we understand the careful thought and consideration that goes into picking the perfect piece, in your budget, for that special occasion or just because.  Here at The Fancy Rat, we are committed to helping you find that perfect piece. Return Policy

We want you to love the piece you purchase from us! The Fancy Rat offers returns within 3 days of receipt for items that are unaltered, undamaged and in the exact same condition as was sent. If there are any issues with the purchased piece, please contact us at hello@thefancyrat.com to discuss the matter in greater detail.

No jewelry will be accepted for return if it is damaged, altered or worn. Note that you will be responsible for any return shipping fees. 

Warranty 

Please understand that antique, vintage and estate jewelry is not brand new.  These items have been loved and worn, often for several decades. As such, these pieces will show some signs of wear and we will disclose any significant blemishes in the product listing.

We would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have on the item prior to purchasing to help ensure that you fully understand the condition of the piece you will be receiving. We can also explore video options and we are happy to send as many pictures as desired to help you feel comfortable purchasing the item.

Layaway

Fine jewelry is a luxury good and is not inexpensive. We understand that acquiring that new piece may take some time to fully fund. As such, The Fancy Rat is pleased to offer a layaway plan to meet your needs on pieces over $500.

Most layaway plans require at least a 25% upfront, non-refundable deposit to remove the piece from active inventory. And the terms for the remainder of the payments are flexible, with at least a payment made every 30 calendar days. Most layaway plans span 3 months with at least 25% payment made each month.

Note that items purchased on layaway are final sale and not returnable.

If a layaway is not paid off within the agreed upon time frame or abandoned, only store credit may be issued at the discretion of The Fancy Rat. No refunds will be given for abandoned layaways.

Also, the terms of the layaway may be different if purchasing an item at a reduced price or via an IG Live sale. Please check our IG page for additional details. 

Shipping

The Fancy Rat currently only ships within the United States of America. Items are typically shipped within 3 business days of receipt of payment. If there is a desire for expedited delivery, please reach out to us at hello@thefancyrat.com to discuss your shipping needs.
