14k Edwardian Enamel Locket

Opens like a compact, closes like it's been doing this since before your grandmother's grandmother was born. Octagonal case, enamel work in remarkable condition for its age, sitting right on the edge where Edwardian starts leaning into Art Deco. There's a monogrammed plaque at the center — someone's initials, long since separated from the name — but it reads as part of the design rather than an intrusion. Both sides are etched, so wear it either way and it still looks finished. This one held something, once. Now it holds whatever you decide.

In very good condition with minor wear throughout and no major flaws or defects. The interior gold frames are intact. Celluloid cover was removed as it was yellowing and disintegrating. Enamel is in excellent condition, not seeing any significant wear. Easy to add a plastic cover for pictures or leave as is. Attributed to Battin & Co. out of Newark, NJ.
