14k Two-tone Mariner Link Chain Necklace

A mariner chain is an anchor chain that came ashore and got manners. Each oval link has a little bar across the middle, a holdover from when that bar kept heavy chain from kinking on a ship’s deck. Here it keeps things orderly around your neck instead.

The links are diamond cut, which means no diamonds, just tiny facets cut into the metal so it throws light like it’s trying to get your attention. Two tones of gold alternate down the length, so it works with whatever you already wear and quietly refuses to pick a side.

This is the chain you put on and forget about until someone asks where it’s from. It’s basic in the way a good white shirt is basic. Wear it alone, add a pendant, or layer it. It’s been through worse at sea.
