18k Star Set Emerald Ring

A small gold dome scattered with tiny emerald cabochons, like someone pressed a handful of green candies into it and called it a day. Bombé just means puffed, and this ring is softly rounded all over, the jewelry equivalent of a pastry.

Each emerald is star set: it sits flush in the gold, with engraved rays fanning out around it, so the whole top twinkles like a little constellation. Cabochons are polished smooth instead of faceted, so instead of sparkling, they glow. You get a cluster of deep green dots rather than a disco ball.

The top is finished in a Florentine texture, fine crosshatched lines engraved into the 18k gold that give it a soft, brushed, almost fabric-like look. That matte background is what makes the polished emeralds pop. It’s sweet without being precious, and it’s very easy to wear every day.

In good condition with minor wear throughout and no major flaws or defects. One emerald cabochon has a small nibble taken out of the top, only seen under magnification.
