It is surmised that this is older "travel jewelry." It has the look of rhodium plated white gold but is not solid gold at all. Silver and palladium were less expensive metals when this piece was made, most likely in the 1950s/ 1960s or later. The genuine earth-mined diamonds add to the uniqueness of this piece.

In good condition. There is some wear to the palladium plating and the silver is showing through. But this is not noticeable when worn. Additionally, the clasp safety is loose but the clasp itself holds firm (so the safety is not really needed). Also, this piece does bear an 18k mark but it is not gold at all.
